They should not have killed them as these people were just mere pawns looks like someone else were pulling strings, they should have been used to get to real snakes - culprits who are sending these foot soldier to do the work.

In india precedence needs to be set, usually death is always forgotten. However psychological fear stays longer, they should have been put on donkey, blackened their faces, go through villages to villages one from another with declaration to real culprits - don't push us to brink of war by attacking our ishat(personal) guru, time to strike infuse fear back to these culprits.

The same tactics that Hari Singh Nalwa used should be used.

this might be a separate topic, but related.

Is capital punishment okay for a murderer ?

Is it only the Judicial System's right to hand out capital punishment or can the citizens mete out the decision ?

What to do in a scenario when protectors of law are killing their own peaceful protesting citizens ?In such a scenario, boundaries get blurred, and everything becomes fair in war. But those few individuals who get involved, their lives became hell, they get forgotten and their own people will forget them after a while.

I don't think maharaja ranjit singh had capital punishment during sheraie punjab rule. I will search more on this, perhaps we can create a separate topic and discuss further.

That's a myth.

Yes, personally M. Ranjit Singh never ordered anyone to be executed himself, but plenty of the governors under him were executing people in annexed Sikh territory with his knowledge, some of them quite frequently (i.e. Avitabile).

The man is believed to have admitted to his crimes and told that he was given instructions to carry out acts of Beadbi and was dropped off at various places to carry out these acts.

It would be good if they divulge who is behind the beadbi and make it Public, as surely if they got him to admit to the crimes , surely they must have asked him who told him to do it .... sounds a bit fishy

Yeah, and those pendus back home can beat any confession out of anyone - people just start saying whatever they want to hear to stop pain.

How the hell could they make him confess to this and not grass up the person/people behind it?
